It is not Velankanni; it is Velam Kanni: This is an ancient temple

Analytical view/ Analysis: The Christian attempts for encroachments and imitating Hindu rituals are already a controversy and his new statement opened way for opening up the disputes over so many churches and hilltops encroached with crosses.
Spiritual preacher Vidyasagar Gurumurthy’s statement that the Velankanni Velmurugan temple in Tamil Nadu is an ancient temple of Lord Muruga has sparked a controversy. In a spiritual discourse, Vidyasagar repeated what Gurumurthy had said in an interview to an online channel, setting out historical facts, and the Christian and Muslim media took up the issue. Vidyasagar Gurumurthy’s Face book post and the interview that followed led to a huge controversy on social media and online media. The controversy also led to the re-investigation of Christian encroachments including Velankanni, Malayattoor and Panchalimedu. Here is the full text of Gurumurthy’s interview and Face book post:
“Velam Kanni, Velanthiya is a cow. How can Mary, who was born in a certain country, hold a child? First of all, find a place where Hindus gather. Find the abandoned temples. And then their method is to put the cross there. There is no connection between Hinduism and Christianity. There were 100 of them there. They got protection during the British period. If you cross somewhere, you can’t question it. Like the Muslims. They want to establish their supremacy over other religions. They think these Brits haven’t gone yet. These Britishers are also among the Hindus. That’s why they don’t respond. ‘
At Panchalimedu, a cross with a saw has been placed to prevent the elephant from being caught. The tusks of many elephants were cut here. It is said that everything in nature is against Christianity. The wild boar is against Christianity, the street dog, the elephant, as well as against other religions. Religion is big in Spain. My father used to use a machine to press the skull from both sides. There is no evidence that Jesus ever lived, other than the false scholars whom these people vote for. France and Europe burned because their people lost faith in Christianity. Gurumurthy said that American saints, who want to go to America and expect benefits from the Church, are taking a stand in favour of Christian congregations.
